Construction Details

Frame: Solid beech wood. Once assembled, frames undergo a 5 stage sanding process followed by a 3 stage hand rubbed finishing process. Made with responsibly-sourced wood.
Joints: Glued, stapled and screwed to ensure frame stablity and longevity.
Assembly: Screw on legs
Style: Tight back; loose seat
Cushions: Contain no flame retardants or harmful chemicals.
Glue and Stains: Water-based, low-VOC

Product Care

Vacuum: Vacuum regularly with a vacuum attachment.
Cushion: Flip & rotate removable cushion to ensure even wear and increase longevity of your cushion.
Sunlight: Do not expose upholstered pieces to direct sunlight.
Frame: Dust wood frame using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Spot Cleaning
Cleaning Code W: Water. Use only water based cleaning products.
Cleaning Code S: Solvent. Use only water free cleaning solvents.

We ordered 2 of the Burns chairs and they are absolutely great! We have a mid century home and they fit in our living room perfectly. If you are looking for great statement pieces, these chairs will not disappoint. The only thing to take note of is that the chair depth is a little larger than I thought, but they ended up working great for our layout.

Super comfortable chair and ottoman. I initially planned to put it in my living room with all my other Joybird furniture, but I didn't want to crowd the room, so the Burns chair and ottoman have now found a place in my bedroom and I now have a place to read. I used my own fabric and the fabric I chose may be one reason the chair back doesn't appear as angular as it does in the Joybird photos, but I love it anyway.

I love this chair! It's on the small side, so it fits perfectly in a corner reading nook, but the construction is wider than some of the teeny tiny mid-century originals I've seen. I love having a retro look without wondering where the upholstery and fabric have been. Additionally, the chair was delivered with one leg a tad loose. Joybird promptly found a repairman in my area and got the chair fixed free of charge, then followed up with me to make sure everything was satisfactory. I couldn't ask for more.
