Construction Details

Frame: Kiln dried hardwood. Once assembled, frames are wrapped in 2lb foam exceeding industry standards. Made with responsibly-sourced wood.
Legs: Solid beech
Suspension: Seat - zig zag springs. Back - poly webbing
Joints: Glued, stapled and screwed to ensure frame stability and longevity.
Assembly: None
Style: Loose back; loose seat
Cushions: Contain no flame retardants or harmful chemicals.
Glue and Stains: Water-based, low-VOC

Product Care

Vacuum: Vacuum regularly with a vacuum attachment.
Cushions: Flip & rotate removable cushions to ensure even wear and increase longevity of your cushions.
Sunlight: Do not expose upholstered pieces to direct sunlight.
Spot Cleaning: Use a cleaning product that corresponds with your fabric's cleaning code. Always blot stains; never rub. Use a clean, dry, white cloth.
Cleaning Code W: Water. Use only water based cleaning products.
Cleaning Code S: Solvent. Use only water free cleaning solvents.

We finally decided on the Eastwood chair over the Fitzgerald and the Gervin for the corner of our living room. I just wanted a hint of mid century modern in this room, so I was a little afraid the Eastwood design might be overkill...it isn't. It fills the corner space perfectly. It sits rather low, which makes the room seem larger, but the seat is deep, so people find it very comfortable. I'm five foot so I can kind of curl up in it, but my husband and I both like sitting in it with an ottoman. I adore the Eastwood ottoman, but we settled for a less expensive poof for the time being.

The chair is way more comfortable than it looks and more attractive in person than in photos. There is a reason Lucky Turquoise is one of the more popular fabrics. I originally wanted to go with something a little more funky, but this allows me to play with different colors throughout the room.

Absolutely no buyer's remorse here!

We love our new Eastwood chair and ottoman - beautiful, comfortable, and durable! The purchasing experience was the easiest I've ever had. This company knows what they're doing! We were amazed at their first rate customer service. It seemed as though we were right there with them while our furniture was being built. They delivered on every promise they made and we have finely crafted, custom-built furniture to enjoy for years. I can't think of one negative comment to make and I'm really picky! This serves well as a reading chair and looks fabulous in my eclectic collection of furniture. The angle of the back keeps you comfortably upright and prevents you from slumping over when you're engrossed in your book. The seat is firmer than I expected, but it's quite comfortable. The Key Largo fabric I chose works well with the style of the chair and seems durable. I like that the seat and back are removable so they can be cleaned separately if necessary. The back cushion could be flipped if needed, but the seat cushion is made with angled sides; so, while it fits perfectly into the frame of the chair, you couldn't flip it over if you spilled something on it.

I bought this chair in the Key Largo Ocean and I am in love. It is so comfortable and feels like it will last forever, just perfect construction and sewing. It also helps that the style is off the charts! Thank you, Joybird!

This chair is extremely well-made -- you can tell that they used quality materials and took the time to make it well instead of producing it quickly like some other companies do. it is stunningly beautiful in person, and looks fantastic in our living room! You really do need an ottoman or pouf and a soft accent pillow to go with it, though, because it is way more comfortable to sit in that way (without them, it's not the kind of chair you can comfortably sink into with a book for hours).
