The Pink Palace

Kitten Kay Sera and Miss Kisses - West Hollywood, CA

The Pink Lady of Hollywood’s monochromatic apartment sets the tone for head-turning drama. Step inside her confectionary-colored space for some “pinkspiration.”

The “more is more” motto never seems to fail Kitten Kay Sera. The multi-hyphenate TV personality with a penchant for pink, displays her decade-spanning obsession not only from head-to-toe, but also inside her home. Feminine and free-spirited, Kitten’s blush-toned retreat tucked along Santa Monica Boulevard is full of charming, kitschy vibes.
Why make a fashion statement when you can make an exclamation mark!

I don't design for anyone but myself. If I want a pink faux fur accent wall,
by golly I'm gonna have it!

Uniquely Pink

Uniquely Pink

A cotton candy layer of carpeting underfoot, plastic flamingos flocked together on the living room wall and her pink Maltese Miss Kisses are among the outrageous details where the Houston native’s fun-loving personality shine through. "Why make a fashion statement when you can make an exclamation mark," says Kitten with a wink and a smile.

It’s no wonder fans lavish her with flamboyant pink gifts or that she was cast alongside Paris Hilton for a Moschino ad campaign when her laugh is infectious and her speech sprinkled with 1950s slang and Auntie Mame attitude. “I don't design for anyone but myself. If I want a pink faux fur accent wall, by golly I'm gonna have it!” And she does.

Beneath shades of ballet slipper, blush, bubblegum, rose, watermelon and magenta, we uncover Kitten’s passion for pink.

The rule of fashion is that there is no rule—it should be fun!

How Would You Describe Your Home?

I would call this style Mid-century kitsch, because my design aesthetic is a mixture of everything. And if it’s not pink, I’ll paint it pink! People have described my home as "Barbie's Playhouse.” I have even had several celebrities shoot inside the pink palace which is always fun.

Paris Hilton and I did a photoshoot here together for the Italian fashion brand Moschino. Model and actress Ruby Rose and the famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth were here recently shooting an entire feature for Galore magazine.

Tell Us About Your Style Inspiration?

I adore Old Hollywood and anything that effuses glamour. I love the1950's and 1960's, especially old films like Pillow Talk and The Pajama Game with Doris Day—she's my pinkspiration. She’s where I got my name Kitten Kay Sera, but I don’t spell it exactly like her song “Que Sera Sera.”

I really began to explore fashion and a love for vintage clothing more when I discovered the movie Auntie Mame. My mom insisted I watch it saying she saw such a resemblance between the eccentric character Mame and me. I tend to agree!
