General

• Any stain or damage not mentioned in "Here's What's Covered" section.
• When directions regarding “Requirements for Requesting Service” from ServeCo have not been followed.
• Stains, damage, or soil build up as a result of extended use, that occur from repeated use rather than one specific incident. This includes pilling, pulls, seam separation, fraying, loose joints, cracking, and peeling.
• Stains or damage with an unknown origin.
• Furniture sold "As is" which may contain existing damage or stains

Improper Maintenance, Care, or Misuse

• Stains or damage that has not been properly cared for or maintained, as per Your manufacturer's warranty.
• Stains or damage resulting from the improper use or misuse of furniture, including the use of furniture beyond the purpose for which it had been designed.
• Stains or damage resulting from the improper, in-home movement of furniture.
• Stains or damage, including color loss or color change, caused by cleaning methods other than those recommended by Joybird.
• Stains or damage caused by animals, unless otherwise specified in the “Here's What's Covered” section. Repetitive bodily fluid stains are considered preventable occurrences and will not be eligible for Service.
• Intentional stains or damage
• Furniture that shows signs of infestation including, but not limited to, insects, termites, cockroaches, and rodents.

Overall Quality Issues

• Stress tear (tearing or ripping of upholstery within one-half inch of and parallel to the seam line), or fabric flaws.
• Fading, color loss or color change.
• Loss of foam and/or innerspring resiliency (including body impressions)
• Defects in design, materials or workmanship not specifically listed in the “Here's What's Covered” section.
• Natural leather markings such as, but not limited to, scars, insect bites, brand marks, and wrinkles.

Non-Household Environments

• Stains or damage that occur during any delivery or installation process, or before the furniture is delivered to Your residence.
• Stains or damage that occur while the furniture is not located within Your residence.
• Stains or damage that occur while the furniture is in storage, or being moved to or from storage, or between residences.
• Furniture that is, or has been, used for commercial, institutional, or rental purposes, including daycare.

Miscellaneous

• Dyes, caustic solutions and chemicals
• Odors
• Feces
• Stains or damage that is covered by Joybird's warranty or under any insurance policy.
• Stains or damage caused by structural problems, like skylights, roofs, or water pipes.
• Stains or damage caused by appliance malfunctions, such as air conditioners or water heaters.
• Stains or damage caused by smoke, fire, flood, or other natural disaster.
• Stains or damage caused by theft, vandalism, or as a result of any other illegal activity.
• Stains or damage caused on behalf of independent contractors, such as maintenance personnel, painters, or repair contracting services.
• Seasonal cracking

Mechanisms or Components

• Deemed to be misused, or used in a negligent manner
• Modified by the consumer or a third party
• Were placed in an improper operating environment
• Have any problem not involving a defect
• Damaged or malfunction as a result of an animal
• Damaged or malfunction as a result of liquid of any kind
• Dropped product.
